Tool: Limited Belief Recognition

When To Use It: When things are not going your way and you are willing to look at your beliefs and see what is actually holding you back. When you recognize what is holding you back, you can decide if you will continue to believe it can hold you back or if, by looking at it with a willingness to move forward, that belief can change.

Why Use It: To determine what is limiting or holding you back.

How To Use It: Record yourself talking about the subject and then play it back at a later time to physically hear what you are saying. This allows you to hear things that you say rather than have them just float around in your head. You will probably argue with yourself saying “that’s not what I meant” or defend and justify what you are saying – realize you are the one who said it and these are the feelings you have. You may actually be surprised by what you hear. This will help you to identify what it is you think is holding you back and what you think the issues really are. This is advanced work and requires honesty and courage.

An exercise in Limited Belief Recognition:

Once your breathing is under control and your mind is attuned to the thoughts you have about the subject at hand, you are ready to ask yourself to speak and be recorded to gain a new perspective.

Be honest, be truthful, be long winded. Talk a lot. Speak from your head, speak from your soul, speak from the bottom of your heart. Say what you need to say to everyone you need to say it to. And be done. Apologize to who ever you want to and ask for an apology from whomever you need one from. When you are finished, find the period at the end of your last sentence. This is where your lessons begin.

Before you listen to the recording, it is very important, helpful and beneficial if you would partake in a few actions.

Walk away from the recording for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 48 hours the first time you listen to it (subsequent sessions can take place years later with great benefit). Take those hours to reflect and nourish your body. Bathe and use any modality of Intentional Internal Cleansing that you like, and drink at least 60 ounces of water. If, when you are bathing, you are aware of asking for what you want, you exponentially increase your chances of getting it. Intention Work is essential.

Still prior to listening, organize yourself with materials to take notes in whatever modality you like weather it is writing in a journal or typing notes on your phone or computer. Prepare a list of what you think you believe about the situation at hand – identify only key words and points that you want addressed – don’t write out the whole story here. Outline form is fine.

Ask yourself what you want – simply, in this situation, right now, focus on what you want to feel right now. What do you want to think? What do you want to believe? What do you believe about others when you think about what they think about you? What do you want to get out of this exercise? Do you want to grow? Are you willing to take a risk and an opportunity to be what you say you want to be and allow yourself to get there? Do you have the courage to stand up and ask yourself …
